A number of our industry clients have developed novel, nutraceutical products that are used to maintain health and possibly prevent disease and poor production in poultry, swine, beef and dairy cattle and fish. These are all vertebrate species and there are commonalities between them. The commonalities include pathogens that negatively affect health and growth in all species (to different extent) as well as to nutraceutical products designed to keep pathogenic organisms in check. This provides a non-antibiotic drug approach, using natural products that are safe and effective, to maintain health and sustain growth of young animals. Nutraceutical approaches have proven to be cost effective in both small and large production facilities, and is better for the environment in which we all live.
